Privacy Policy

Effective date: June 25, 2026

Minducate ("Minducate," "we," "us," or "our") is a free wellness-education app for iOS, operated by Devin Wright as a sole proprietor. This Privacy Policy explains what information the Minducate app and this website handle, how that information is used, and the choices you have.

The short version:

  • You can use Minducate without an account. If you do, your progress stays on your device and we never receive it.
  • If you create an account, we store your email and learning progress so it can back up and sync across your devices. We use Google Firebase for this.
  • We use no analytics, advertising, or tracking software, and we never sell your data.

1. Information we collect

Using the app without an account

Minducate is anonymous-first. Until you choose to sign in, everything you do (articles you open and complete, quiz scores, earned badges, challenge progress, reminder settings, and your sound and theme preferences) is stored only on your device. We have no access to it, and it is removed if you delete the app.

When you create an account

If you sign up with email or with Apple Sign In, we collect and store:

  • Your email address. If you use Apple's "Hide My Email," we only receive Apple's private relay address, not your real one.
  • Your display name and avatar, if you set them.
  • Your learning data: articles opened and completed, quiz scores, earned badges, and the time of your last sync.

This lets your progress back up and follow you to a new device.

Information collected automatically

We use Google Firebase to run accounts and syncing. To provide those services, Firebase automatically processes technical data such as your IP address, basic device and operating-system information, and a Firebase installation identifier. The app also makes a lightweight request to Google's servers to read the current date and time (used to schedule time-limited challenges) and loads badge and challenge images from Firebase Storage.

Our website mailing list

If you submit the "Notify Me" form on this website, we collect the name and email address you provide so we can add you to our mailing list and send you a welcome email and occasional updates about Minducate. We use Resend to store the list and deliver these emails. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send, or by emailing [email protected].

2. What we do not collect

Minducate contains no third-party analytics, crash-reporting, advertising, or tracking software. We do not build advertising profiles, we do not track you across other apps or websites, and we do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.

3. Notifications

If you turn on reminders, Minducate schedules daily reminders and occasional "we miss you" nudges. These are created and delivered on your device. We do not run a server that pushes notifications to you, and the reminder content never leaves your phone. You can turn reminders off any time in the app or in your device's Settings.

4. How we use information

We use the information above only to:

  • Provide the app and your account.
  • Save and sync your learning progress across your devices.
  • Send the reminders you have enabled.
  • Keep the service secure and working correctly.

5. How information is stored and shared

Your account data is stored using Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, and Storage), provided by Google LLC on infrastructure located in the United States. If you sign in with Apple, Apple processes your sign-in. If you join our website mailing list, your name and email are handled by Resend. We share information with these providers only so they can deliver these services to us, and we may disclose information if required by law. For details, see:

  • Google Privacy Policy
  • Firebase Privacy and Security
  • Apple Privacy Policy
  • Resend Privacy Policy

6. Data retention and deletion

We keep your account data for as long as your account exists.

Without an account

Simply delete the app, and your local data is gone.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time from inside the app, under Profile → Account → More → Delete Account. To protect your account, we ask password users to re-enter their password first. Deletion works with a 30-day grace period:

  • Your account is immediately deactivated, you are signed out, and it is scheduled for permanent deletion 30 days later.
  • If you change your mind, just sign back in within those 30 days to restore your account and your progress. No separate request is needed.
  • After 30 days, a scheduled process permanently deletes your profile, learning data, badge records, and your login (Firebase Authentication) account. This cannot be undone.

When you start a deletion, we ask a short exit survey (a reason and an optional note). To help us understand why people leave and improve Minducate, those responses, together with your email address, are stored separately and may be retained after the rest of your account is deleted.

If you would rather not use the in-app flow, email [email protected] and we will help.

7. Children's privacy

Minducate is intended for users age 13 and older and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, contact us at [email protected] and we will delete it.

8. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and to ask how it is used. California residents have these rights under the CCPA and CPRA; we do not "sell" or "share" personal information as those laws define those terms. To exercise any right, email [email protected] and we will respond as required by applicable law.

9. Security

We rely on Google Firebase's industry-standard security, use access rules that limit account data to its owner, and transmit data over encrypted connections. No method of storage or transmission is ever completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

10. Wellness disclaimer

Minducate provides general, educational wellness content. It is not medical or mental-health advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and it is not a substitute for care from a qualified professional. If you are in crisis, contact your local emergency services or, in the US, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline).

11. International users

Minducate is operated from the United States, and your information is processed there. By using the app, you understand that your information will be handled in the US.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will change the "Effective date" above and, for significant changes, provide a more prominent notice. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
